Olga Spiegel is a Holocaust survivor and visionary painter who arrived in New York City in 1964. Largely self-taught, she studied briefly under Ernst Fuchs of the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism, whose mischtechnik technique informed her luminous, jewel-like canvases. Over six decades, Spiegel has charted an ever-evolving inner universe — improvisational, ornate, and utterly her own — where abstraction dissolves into infinite mindscapes.
